[Holy Qur'an 17:81] And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish."

IS THIS TRUE?

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

This is from al-Mustadrak (Dar al-Kutub al-Alamiyah, Beirut, first print. 1990; annotator: Mustafa Abdul Qadir) 2/593, Hadith 4001:

Narrated Muslim ibn Yasar al-Juhani:

Umar ibn al-Khattab was asked about this verse {When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants} (Qur'an 7:172). He replied: "I heard the Messenger of Allah pbuh.gif saying: Allah created Adam. Then He touched his loin with His Right Hand and brought out descendants and said: 'I have created these ones for the Paradise, and they will be doing the deeds of the people of Paradise'. Then, he touched Adam's loin again and brought out descendants and said: 'I have created these ones for Hellfire, and they will be doing the deeds of the people of Hellfire'. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how about the deeds?" (not sure of this particular translation). He replied, "When Allah has created a servant for the Paradise, He makes him do the deeds of the people of Paradise until he dies on the deeds of the people of the Paradise. Then, He makes him enter the Paradise. Likewise, when Allah has created a servant for the Hellfire, He makes him do the deeds of the people of the Hellfire until he dies on the deeds of the people of the Hellfire, and then He makes him enter the Hellfire!".

Imam al-Hakim says:

This hadith is sahih on the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim, although they have not recorded it.

Al-Dhahabi states:

It is sahih on the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim.

The hadith has also been recorded through another chain in that same book 2/354, No. 3256. Both al-Hakim and al-Dhahabi have declared this second riwayat sahih on the conditions of Muslim.

Apart from the fact that this hadith attributes injustice to Allah (swt) and purposelessness to His creation, there is also a terrible side to it. It is in this second hadith, recorded in Musnad Ahmad 4/176:

The Messenger of Allah said:

Allah seized a group with His Right Hand and seized another with His other Hand, and said: "This (group) is for this (i.e. Paradise), and this (group) is for that (i.e. Hellfire)". I do not know to which of the two groups I belong!

Shaykh al-Arnaut states:

Its chain is sahih. Its narrators are narrators of the Sahih.

Al-Arnaut has passed the same verdict on another riwayat of the hadith in the same book, 4/176, No. 17630. Imam al-Haythami has also recorded it in his Majma' al-Zawaid 7/385, with this comment:

Ahmad has narrated it, and its narrators are narrators of the Sahih.

Shaykh al-Albani has recorded it in his Silsilah al-Ahadith al-Sahihah 1/114, No. 50. He says:

It is sahih.

So, the summary is this:

1. Allah (swt) forces the people of Paradise to do the deed of Paradise, and then rewards them!
2. He likewise forces the people of Hellfire to do evil deeds and then punishes them!!
3. The people of Hellfire are easily identifiable through their evil deeds
4. The Messenger of Allah (swt) did not know whether he was from the people of Paradise or Hellfire!!!
5. Apparently, he was not sure that his deeds were those of the people of Paradise!

These beliefs are apparent kufr!
