[Holy Qur'an 17:81] And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish."

Salafi Banned Beliefs (Part B)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
This is the direct continuation of the first part of this article.

BANNED BELIEF ELEVEN: ALLAH FLIES

Salafis expect that one day Allah (swt) will fly down with His angels to the earth. They have never said He has wings. However, somehow, He will fly. Most of them believe that the event will take place on the Day of Resurrection. They rely mainly on these verses:

“Will they wait until Allah comes to them in canopies of clouds, with angels and the question is settled”?
Qur’an 2: 210

“Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or your Lord, or certain of the Sign of your Lord”?
Qur’an 6: 158

“Why are not angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord”
Qur’an 25: 21

“We shall not believe in you, until… you bring Allah and the angels before us face to face.
Qur’an 17: 90-92

“O Haman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means, the ways and means of reaching the heavens, and that I may look up to the God of Musa”.
Qur’an 40:36-37

These verses confirm that the idea of Allah (swt) residing in the heavens or above them belongs exclusively to pagans; and they usually made demands based on it to Prophets. In the first two verses, Allah (swt) asks: are you still bent on your irrational demands before accepting the True Islam? Are you still expecting to see your illusions come true before you accept Islam?

BANNED BELIEF TWELVE: ALLAH ON A MOSQUITO!

Imam al-Darami, author of Sunan al-Darami, in his book “Aqaid al-Salaf (Beliefs of the Salaf), writes:

“It has reached us that when the angels lifted the Throne while the Almighty was on top of it in His Might and Glory, they were weak in lifting it. And they rested and bent onto their knees until they said: ‘There is no might or power except with Allah’. So, they lifted it with His Power and Will. If it was not for it (His Power and Will), it would not have been possible for the Throne, or those that carry it or the heavens or the earth or whoever is inside it (to do anything). And if He so willed, He would have mounted on the back of a mosquito, and it would have carried Him by His Divine Grace. So, how about a great Throne that is larger than the seven heavens”?
Aqaid Salaf, page 443.

Never be surprised whenever you see the Salafi god and on the back of a mosquito, enjoying Himself.

BANNED BELIEF THIRTEEN: ALLAH IS ANYTHING YOU IMAGINE

We read in Sahih Al-Bukhari:

“I am just as My slave thinks I am”.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 9, Hadith No. 502

So, any image Salafis form in their minds is their god. Also, anything they imagine of His character, right or wrong, is correct.

BANNED BELIEF FOURTEEN: ALLAH RUNS

Salafis are always angry with the various organizers and hosts of Olympics competitions for never inviting their god. In their view, no one can run faster than Him. They often cite this hadith to prove their point:

“If My slave comes to Me walking, I go to him running”.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 9, Book 93, Number 627

Ibn Baz cites the hadith in his Fatawa and adds:

“Interpreting such hadith metaphorically and avoiding relying upon their literal meanings is the practice of the heretic Jahmiyyah and Mu’taziliyyah”.
Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 5, p. 374

Al-Albani is very explicit on the point:
“Running is an attribute of Allah that we lack a base for denying”.
Fatawa Al-Albani, p. 506

Again, Ibn Baz adds:

Question: Is running an attribute of Allah?

Answer:  Yes, as it has been shown in the holy divine hadith....."and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running. narrated bukhari and muslim.

Ibn Baaz, The Everlasting Garden for Scientific Research and Legal Opinions Vol.3 Page 196.

The heading of the subject where this fatwa was isued is called "Sifat al-harwala" , the attribute (Sifa) of running. The fatwa issued here is number 6932

Book title: Fatawa al-Janna al-Da'ima Lilbuhuth al'ilmiyah wa al'ifta

Author: Ahmed bin Abd Alrazaq alDewish

Published in Riyadh by the Ministry of Scientific Research and Fatwa Management.

Date: 1996

Description: A collection of fatwas by various prominent scholars.

The book in its entirety is available at http://www.islamport.com

Simply, there is No doubt that the Salafi god runs! Anytime a spaceship approaches the heavens, He runs in its direction. He pursues every single aircraft, satellite, missile, angels and others.

BANNED BELIEF FIFTEEN: ALLAH BREATHES

The following verses are metaphorical. But, Salafis interpret them literally:

“When I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit”.
Qur’an 15:29

“We breathed into her (Maryam) from Our Spirit”.
Qur’an 21:91

BANNED BELIEF SIXTEEN: ALLAH LAUGHS

Al-Dhahabi has recorded this hadith, and considers it authentic, in his Siyar al-Alamin Nubala:

“Allah laughs whenever He is mentioned in markets”.
Siyar al-Alamin Nubala vol. 8, p. 467.

There is also this popular one from Sahih al-Bukhari:

Allah Most High laughs about two men, one of whom kills the other, but both of whom enter paradise: the one fights in the path of Allah and is killed, and afterwards Allah forgives the killer, and then he fights in the path of Allah and is martyred.

Salafis are in no confusion over the fact that the hadith is literal. However, Imam al-Bayhaqi records that [Muhammad Ibn Yusuf] al-Farabri (d. 320/932) related from the hadith master Imam al-Bukhari that: "The meaning of laughter in it is mercy"
Bayhaqi, Kitab al-asma’ wa al-sifat [1358/1939. Reprint. Beirut: Dar Ihya’ al-Turath al-‘Arabi, n.d.], 298.

BANNED BELIEF SEVENTEEN: ALLAH SHARES HIS THRONE

Al-Khallal, a predecessor of Salafis in matters of anthropomorphism, records this narration more than fifty times in his book al-Sunna (copied from him by al-Saqaf):

“Mujahid: The verse (Qur’an 17:79) implies that the Lord reposes on the Throne and seats Muhammad next to Him in the four-finger distance space remaining on the Throne”.
Sharh Aqeedat al-Tahawiyyah, p. 315

Sunnis consider the hadith to be inauthentic. But, Salafis accept it, and have no objection against it. This is what Ibn Taymiyyah wrote:

The reliable and acceptable scholars narrated that Allah shall make Muhammad the messenger of Allah sit next to Him [swt] on the Throne.
Majmo’a al-Fatawa, Volume 4 page 374

BANNED BELIEF EIGHTEEN: ALLAH IS DEFEATED

If a government withdraws a particular policy because of persistent opposition from the public, everyone describes it as weak. Also, such withdrawal is a sign of regret on its part. Surprisingly, Salafis think that government is Allah (swt), through this verse:

“We refrain from sending the Signs, only because the man of former generations treated them as false”.
Qur’an 17:59

That is the point! Salafis think Allah (swt) did not know the future. So, He was caught unawares, regretting, defeated.

However, the Qur’an says that the above verse is not literal:

“Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on earth. He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful”.
Qur’an 35:44

“He knows what is before or after them”.
Qur’an 20:10

BANNED BELIEF NINETEEN: ALLAH DRINKS WINE

In the Glossary to their translation, the two Salafi translators have written this about the word “Rabb”:

“It means the One and the Only Lord for all the universe, its Creator, Owner, Organizer, Provider, Master, Planner, Sustainer, Cherisher, and Giver of security. Rabb is also one of the Names of Allah”.

In the Glossary, in their discussion on Tawheed, the Salafi translators have explicitly stated that NONE can bear the same name or title as Allah (swt). If you ask a Salafi, can we call a human being or another creature a Rabb? He will certainly answer – NO. The term is one of the Names of Allah (swt). It is also one of His descriptions. It cannot be used for creatures. Therefore, a statement like the below is a form of polytheism:

“Muhammad is my Rabb”.

Their argument, however, is defeated by the fact that one of the Names and descriptions of Allah (swt) is – the King. Yet, we have the King of Saudi Arabia. Does that make him a god?
Anyway, we will take them by their creed. This statement from Yusuf (as) exposes something about their beliefs:

“He will pour out the wine for his Rabb to drink”.
Qur’an 12:14

Note that, in Arabic, there are no capitals or small letters. It is always the same word, for Allah (swt) and anything else. The term “Rabb” is like “God” or “god” to Salafis. Capital or small letters, the same meaning is conveyed.

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY: ALLAH HAS A WIFE

The term “Al-Azeez” is one of the Names of Allah (swt), and His descriptions. Salafis do not accept that a creature can bear it as a name or title or description. So, this verse makes a nuclear strike on their attempts to conceal their beliefs:

“The wife of Al-Azeez said………..”
Qur’an 12:51

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-ONE: AIR IS ETERNAL AND UNCREATED

This hadith says it all:

“Our Lord, BEFORE CREATING HIS CREATION, did not have anything with Him; underneath Him was air; above Him was air. Then, He created His Throne on water”.
Musnad, vol. 4, p. 11-12; Sunan Ibn Majah, Introduction
Sunan Tirmidhi, chapter on Surat al-Hud

So, His first creation was the Throne – possibly so that He could relieve Himself of endless standing!

Ibn Taymiyyah too records and authenticates this hadith:

“Our Lord had been in gloom and surrounded by air BEFORE HE CREATED HIS CREATURES”.
Majmu’at al-Rasail, vol. 2, p. 95

Therefore, in the Salafi creed, something is equal to Allah (swt) in His eternity and uncreatedness.

Ibn Taymiyyah continues:

Verily the majority of hadithists and who ever agrees with them, don’t consider genus as created, nay they believe it to be eternal.
Dare Tarud al-Aqel wa al-Naqel by Ibn Taymiyyah, Volume 1 page 310

Faced with the clear consequence of such a belief, Albaani offers this apology:

Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah's mercy be upon him, had a long statement in answering the philosophers and tried to prove to them that the genus is eternal, and during that he produced statements that the mind cannot understand and the hearts cannot accept ….. Verily his statement is not acceptable, nay it should be rejected according to hadith; and we wish that Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah's mercy be upon him, did not indulge himself in that topic.
Silsila Sahiha, by Albaani, Volume 1 page 220

Here is another one :

“We agreed that Qur’an which is the word of Allah, is eternal not created.”
Al-Fatawa al-Kubra by Ibn Taymiyyah, Volume 6 page 595

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-TWO: THERE IS SOMETHING ABOVE ALLAH!

Salafis love this verse:

“Then high above all be Allah, the True King”.
Qur’an 20:114

This, in their view, shows that Allah (swt) is spatially above all His creatures. This verse is also their favourite:

“He is supreme over His servants”.
Qur’an 6:18, 61

Ibn Taymiyyah pleasantly cites this hadith in his book:

“(O Allah) You are the First. Nothing existed before You. You are the Last. Nothing will exist after You. You are the Most High. Nothing is above You. You are the Prevailing. Nothing is after you”.
Tafseer al-Kabeer, vol. 6, p. 118

He calls attention to the fact that the last statement says “after” and not “under”. Therefore, there is something “under” Allah (swt). We ask him – does air surround Him from above and below? The clear answer, according to your creed, is YES, as we have proved. That destroys his argument. But, is it true that there is nothing above Him? This hadith answers:

“Jubayr Ibn Muhammad – Muhammad Ibn Jubayr – Jubayr Ibn Mutim – Mutim – his father: …… Allah is above His heavens on His Throne. A dome covers His Throne, that cracks as same as a new saddle under a heavy man”.
Tarikh Baghdad, vol. 4, p. 39

All the narrators are reliable, by Sunni standards. They are regarded by scholars of hadith as being truthful.

Since Allah (swt), supposedly is sitting on the Throne, certainly, the dome over it is above Him. Otherwise, He would be sitting on the dome itself! Note that the dome is NOT part of the Throne. May be it was fixed to shield the Salafi god, like an umbrella, from the sun.

There is an interesting point here. Salafis assert that all the servants of Allah (swt), His creatures, are BELOW Him. This then means that the dome is either His peer or superior!

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY THREE: ALLAH POINTS

The Qur’an states:

“We pointed the site to Ibrahim”.
Qur’an 22:26

Our question to Salafis is – did Ibrahim (as) see Him? If he did not, how was he guided by the pointing?

The cunning Salafi translators have given a metaphorical translation of this verse!

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-FOUR: ALLAH VISITS EARTH!

Salafis maintain that Allah (swt) has never come down to earth. We challenge them with the literal meaning of this verse:

“O Musa! Fear not. Truly, in MY PRESENCE, those called as Messengers have no fear”.
Qur’an 27:9

How did Musa (as) come into His Presence on this earth?

Now look at this:

“’And throw your stick’! But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and looked not back. (It was said): ‘O Musa! DRAW NEAR, and fear not. Verily, you are of those who are secure”.
Qur’an 28:31

Unfortunately for them, Salafis cannot explain this in terms of their pathetic “His Knowledge” excuse. Rather, Ibn Qayyim has recorded and authenticated the following:

Allah wrote the Torah for Moses with His hand while leaning back on a rock, on tablets of pearl, and the screech of the quill could be heard. There was no veil between Him and him
Kitab al-Sunna [Dammam, Dar Ibn al-Qayyim, 1986/1406], 1.294

Simply put, the Salafi god descended and leant on a rock, here on earth!

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-FIVE: KHIDR ABOVE THE HEAVENS

How will Salafis explain this verse?

“So they found one of Our servants on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Own Presence”.
Qur’an 18:65

Why has Allah (swt) differentiated between “Ourselves” and “Our Own Presence”? How did Khidr (as) get into the Presence of Allah (swt) without flying above the heavens?

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-SIX: IBRAHIM ROSE OVER

Or, how else can we explain this verse through the lens of Salafis literalism?

“He (Ibrahim) said: ‘I will go to my Lord. He will surely guide me’”.
Qur’an 37:99

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-SEVEN: EVERYONE ABOVE THE HEAVENS

Salafis believe that there are goats carrying Allah (swt):

“To Him belongs all in the heavens and on the earth: even those who are with Him are not too proud to worship Him, nor are they weary”.
Qur’an 21:19

“Those who are with your Lord disdain not to worship Him: they glorify Him and prostrate before Him”.
Qur’an 7:206

The second verse creates a serious problem. How are the goats able to carry Allah (swt) while still prostrating BEFORE Him? Besides, our deeds take us nearer to Him, even from the earth:

“Indeed, they (their deeds) bring them nearer”.
Qur’an 9:99

Therefore, we should all hope of a day when we will develop wings that will carry us above the heavens. Alternatively, we may go on a spaceship.

But, we are all already above the heavens!

“Every single thing is with Him in proportion”.
Qur’an 13:8

Asides, He Himself is NOT sitting, but standing:

“Is then He Who STANDS over every soul (and knows) all that it does”?
Qur’an 13:33

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-EIGHT: ALLAH INCARNATES

What is the literal meaning of this Hadith Qudsi?

“The most beloved thing with which My slave comes near to Me, is what I nave enjoined upon him, and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil till I love him. Then I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks”.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 8, Hadith No. 509

BANNED BELIEF TWENTY-NINE: ALLAH HATES PIETY

Let us carefully examine this narration from Umar:

“This is an example for a rich man who does good deeds out of obedience to Allah, and then Allah sends him Satan whereupon he commits sins till all his goods are lost”.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 6, hadith No. 62

But, why will Allah (swt) deliberately set Satan against His slave simply for doing good deeds?
This is what we read in the Qur’an:

“Allah is the Wali of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light”.
Qur’an 2: 257

Who is the liar here - Allah (swt) or Umar?

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY: ALLAH WILL RELOCATE

If Allah (swt) resides above the heavens now, then these verses indicate that He will relocate to enjoy the pleasure of Paradise after the Day of Resurrection:

“And those foremost will be foremost. They will be the nearest to Allah in Gardens of Bliss”.
Qur’an 56:10-12

“Verily, a pious will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers, in a seat of truth, near the Omnipotent King”.
Qur’an 54:54-55

Of course, the verses are only saying that the foremost in this world, like the Prophets and Imams and the pious, will also be leaders in the Hereafter, as well as greatest beneficiaries of Allah (swt) Pleasure in Paradise. The question is – in the Paradise, will He also be living in an apartment, so that the apartments of the foremost and pious will be near His Own? Or, will He be homeless?

Besides, Paradise is not at the highest point in space. Why will He abandon His exclusive post?

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-ONE ALLAH IS A CRIMINAL

Everything a Salafi does, he attributes it directly to Allah (swt) based on this verse:

“And you threw not when you did throw, but Allah threw”
Qur’an 8: 17

This verse actually shows that whatsoever we do, it is by the Permission of Allah (swt). However, the act is ours, from our own will. This is why the Qur’an has said:

“Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because of the things your hands have wrought”.
Qur’an 42: 30

In the views of Salafis, every evil act we do, is actually an act by Allah (swt) Himself, using our body as the medium. We have no will, intention or personal contribution in any of our own acts. To put it in modern language, we are only Allah’s (swt) robots.

Since our acts bear no value, Paradise and Hell make no meaning in the Salafi religion. Basically, Allah (swt) awards anything to anybody. Even The Holy Prophet (pbuh) cannot tell where he will fall:

“Say: I am not an innovation among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a Warner, open and clear”.
Qur’an 46:9

This verse merely proves that The Holy Prophet (pbuh) had no knowledge of the Unseen of his own. Salafis disagree. Actually, they have support in a hadith:

“The deeds of one of you will not save you (from the Hellfire)… even I myself”.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 8, hadith No. 470

We ask – on what basis, then, did The Holy Prophet (pbuh) declare your ten companions people of Paradise?

It is our utmost wish that Salafis benefit from these verses:

“Allah is never unjust in the least degree”.
Qur’an 4:40

“We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving”.
Qur’an 76:3

“The Truth is from your Lord. Let him who will, believe, and let him who will, reject (it)”.
Qur’an 18:29

If we were to accept the Salafi position, then Allah (swt) is responsible for all the robberies, terrorism, homosexuality, carnage of the world?

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-TWO: ALLAH ENGAGES IN WISHFUL THINKING!

Usually, never you recite the verse below to a Salafi, he immediately replies – “It is only a wish”:

“Allah wishes only to keep far away from you all abomination, O people of the House, and to purify you absolutely”.
Qur’an 33:33

In the view of Salafism, Allah (swt) merely engages in wishful thinking in the verse. In our creed, the wish of Allah (swt) is actually His command. Allah (swt) is above having a wish, and later abandoning its implementation:

“His Affairs is but that when ever He wishes a thing, He says ‘Be’ to it and it is”.
Qur’an 36:82

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-THREE: HOLY PROPHET IN HELL!

To refute the doctrine of prophetic infallibility, Salafis love to cite this verse:

“If Allah were to punish men according to what they deserve, He would not leave on the back of the earth a single living creature. But He gives them respite for a stated term”.
Qur’an 35:45

From the verse, Salafis try to prove that not a single creature is infallible. But, the issue goes far beyond that. It also shows that The Holy Prophet (pbuh), in the view of Salafism was a grave sinner, deserving to be destroyed on account of his sin! Otherwise, why would Allah (swt) not leave a SINGLE living creature on the earth?

Funnily, these same Salafis consider the people who were in the Ark with Nuh (as) to be ma’soom since they were not destroyed! Anyway, the Qur’an refutes them:

“Shall any be destroyed except those who transgress?
Qur’an 46:35

This shows that the verse is addressed to “transgressors”, not all. So, if Allah (swt) were to punish transgressors according to what they deserve, none of them would be left. The fact that they have been given a “respite” also confirms this. The word “men” is not literal. It is purely metaphorical.

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-FOUR: PROPHETS AFTER MUHAMMAD

The creed of Salafism rejects the doctrine of Raj’ah. This has put them in a terrible dilemma, going by their disease, with regards to some verses. For instance, this verse strikes them with a huge blast:

“And a ban is laid on every population which We have destroyed that they shall not return”.
Qur’an 21: 95

Is it then true that some people will not to return to Allah (swt) on the Day of Resurrection?

This is another problematic verse:

“Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together the living and the dead”?
Qur’an 77:25-26

Can Salafis tell us exactly when the dead and the living will be drawn together on this earth? Is it on the Day of Resurrection when everyone will be dead but resurrected? Certainly, it is not. In the same line, we have this verse:

“O you Messengers! Enjoy things good and pure, and work righteousness. I am well-acquainted will all that you do”.
Qur’an 23:51

We strongly urge the esteemed reader to re-read the 9th point in Chapter Two, which is basically about Raj’ah before continuing. The verse above actually addresses the prophets when they return to participate in Imam Mahdi’s (as) glorious conquest of the earth for Allah (swt). Since Salafis reject any possibility of the return of the dead to the world, there is only one explanation for this verse in their creed – there are new prophets after The Holy Prophet (pbuh). Salafis should note that while it is possible to be a prophet without being a Messenger, the reverse is impossible.

The other possible explanation, in Salafism, is that the verse is only irrational.

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-FIVE: ALLAH WAS IMPERFECT

We read:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Verily Allah created Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into one hundred parts. He withheld with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent its one part to all His creatures. Had the non-believer known of all the Mercy which is in the Hands of Allah, he would not lose hope of entering Paradise, and had the believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allah, he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire."
Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 76, Number 476

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

When Allah created the creation, He ordained for Himself and this document is with Him: Verily, My mercy predominates My wrath.
Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6628

Abu Huraira reported:

I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah created mercy in one hundred parts and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and He has sent down upon the earth one part, and it is because of this one part that there is mutual love among the creation so much so that the animal lifts up its hoof from its younc, one, fearing that it might harm it.
Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6629

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

Allah created one hundred (parts of mercy) and He distributed one amongst His creation and kept this one hundred excepting one with Himself (for the Day of Resurrection).
Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6630

Salman reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:

Verily, Allah created, on the same very day when He created the heavens and the earth, one hundred parts of mercy. Every part of mercy is coextensive with the space between the heavens. and the earth and He out of this mercy endowed one part to the earth and it is because of this that the mother shows affection to her child and even the beasts and birds show kindness to one another and when there would be the Day of Resurrection, Allah would make full (use of Mercy).
Sahih Muslim, Book 037, Number 6634

These hadiths paint Allah (swt) as lacking mercy originally!

BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-SIX: ALLAH IS THIRSTY, HUNGRY AND SICK

We read in the famous book Forty Hadith Qudsi, this hadith copied from Sahih Muslim as its Salafi authors state:
Hadith Qudsi 18:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He) will say on the Day of Resurrection:
O son of Adam, I fell ill and you visited Me not. He will say: O Lord, and how should I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My servant So-and-so had fallen ill and you visited him not?
Did you not know that had you visited him you would have found Me with him? O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you fed Me not. He will say: O Lord, and how should I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My servant So-and-so asked you for food and you fed him not? Did you not know that had you fed him you would surely have found that (the reward for doing so) with Me? O son of Adam, I asked you to give Me to drink and you gave Me not to drink. He will say: O Lord, how should I give You to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: My servant So-and-so asked you to give him to drink and you gave him not to drink. Had you given him to drink you would have surely found that with Me.
A literal interpretation of the above hadith shows that Allah (swt) does feel thirst and hunger, and actually eats and drinks. He also falls sick! May Allah (swt) save us from the evil of such statements. This is where Salafi literalism lands them.
But, it also contains a major rebuttal to Salafism! It shows that Allah (swt) is present everywhere, rather than their claim that He is reclining on a Throne above the skies.
BANNED BELIEF THIRTY-SEVEN: ALLAH HAS LIMITS
Ibn Taymiyyah said:
This moderate saying among the three sayings of Al-Qaađii Abuu Yaˆlaa is the one that agrees with what Aĥmad says and others among the imaams. He [i.e. Aĥmad ibn Ĥanbal ] has stated, “Aļļaah is in a particular direction, and He is not spread out in all directions. Rather, He is outside the world, distinct from His creation, separate from it, and He is not in every direction.” This is what Aĥmad, may Aļļaah have mercy upon him, meant when he said, “He has a limit that only He knows.” If Aĥmad had meant the direction towards the ˆArsħ (Throne) only, then this would be known to Aļļaah’s slaves, because they know that Aļļaah’s limit from this direction is the ˆArsħ, so we know then that the limit they do not know is unqualified, and is not specified for the direction of the ˆArsħ
Bayaan Talbiis Al-Jahmiyyah, Vol.1, p. 438

THE CONCLUDING HIT

You will always see Salafis regularly combing their long beards and stroking their clean-shaven heads. They give the utmost importance to their head, especially their face. In their view, Islam never means more than mere submission of the face to Allah (swt). These are their “proofs”:

“Whoever submits his face to Allah and is a doer of good, he will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”.
Qur’an 2: 112

“Whoever submits his face to Allah, while he is a good-doer, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold “.
Qur’an 31:22

Therefore, just avoid sinning with your face and do good! You are free to commit atrocities with your hands, feet and bodies. However, as long as you also do good, you are free from Allah’s (swt) wrath.

This evil Salafi teaching is adequately refuted by this verse:

“O you believe! Enter into Islam with all of your existence; and follow not the footsteps of the Satan, for he is to you an avowed enemy”.
Qur’an 2:208
